The Brief – 360 Virtual Tour
Kinross Wolaroi School is a boarding school with students from all over NSW with a focus on agriculture. The marketing team were planning the open day and wanted to incorporate a virtual tour as part of the total experience. As a result, not everyone can physically attend. Another component was that the tours needed to be VR compatible. The school sent out Google Cardboard headsets to prospective families/students to view the virtual tour in virtual reality if they were unable to attend.
Update: A year after the original virtual tour was created, the team at Kinross Wolaroi School wanted to update their virtual tour. They had spaces they had built since the original shoot and also wanted to add 360 drone photography to the project. As they have three large campuses, they wanted to show everyone the scale and scope of their educational facilities.
By adding 360 aerial drone photography, it added an appreciation of the size of the campuses and what they have to offer.
What We Loved About This Project
The grounds at Kinross Wolaroi School are absolutely stunning and span far as the eye can see. The expansive oval, hall, and even driving up between the trees is quite beautiful. Their fully equipped onsite farm with horses, cows, chicken and sheep was something different (especially as we are from Sydney and don’t see that every day).
On a side note, as mentioned above, this school is quite large. I believe I walked the most steps while on-site shooting a virtual tour at over 19,000 steps and 380+ sets of stairs in one day.
