The Brief – 360 Virtual Tour and Google Street View
InvoCare approached us with a unique challenge – to create expansive 360 virtual tours for their memorial parks and crematoriums. We knew from the outset that a project of this magnitude would require careful pre-planning and coordination. It could take anywhere from a single day to multiple days of shooting, and multiple staff would be necessary to keep the project on track and within the given time frame. To make it even more interesting, the virtual tour also integrates VR technology, allowing visitors to walk around and see the location firsthand if they’re on-site.
This was the first time we brought on our PMP-certified Project Manager, Stephanie Cassimatis, for the entire project lifecycle. Stephanie typically consults on the initial phases of our projects to ensure that we’re running a tight ship. However, in this instance, she was instrumental in consulting, planning, and coordinating the entire process from start to finish. Her skill set was perfectly suited for a project of this scale, scope, and magnitude, and she could easily oversee and manage every aspect of it.
What We Loved About This Project
At Simply 360, we absolutely love a challenge, and when we were tasked with creating a fully immersive virtual tour for Invocare and its various Memorial Parks, Cemeteries and Crematoriums, we knew we had to optimise and enhance our workflow. This project allowed us to refine and optimize our photographic, editing, and operational processes, and the scale of it truly tested our capabilities. To ensure that people could fully grasp the size and layout of the various memorial parks and crematoriums, we integrated 360 aerial photography into the virtual tour. This decision proved to be incredibly beneficial as it helped people to better understand the different sections available.
