The Brief – Virtual Tour and Google Maps Tour
Davidson High School contacted us to create a virtual tour for their school. In addition, it had to be completed, uploaded and ready for their virtual open day in the beginning of March with the shoot date scheduled for the 14th of February (Valentine’s Day). This includes coming to the site, editing all the imagery, designing the UI, integrating the content, debugging and working with the IT team to ensure everything is linked and hosted correctly.
When Simply 360 take on a project we want to ensure that what we produce for our clients is completed to our standard and not rushed. Speaking with the team at Simply 360 and working with the Davidson High School team we determined we would be able to deliver in time and did so with time to spare.
This was achievable from what we had learned while creating other tours and working with our lead PMP Certified Project Manager Stephanie Cassimatis. She redesigned multiple aspects of our admin and operations which we now use as our new standard for all future tours. In addition, Davidson High School also wanted their virtual tour on Google Maps for a boost in Map Ranking. Lastly, they also wanted to showcase their school in the best possible light and asked us to take a 360 aerial shot of the school. This brings their virtual tour to a new level giving it that wow factor and connecting the entire school in an easy to understand way.
What We Loved About This Project
This tour is the first school to utilise our 360 aerial photography and it’s amazing to see from the shoot that the entire school is surrounded by greenery. All this while being so close to Sydney City. Also during the creation of the project and talking with the admin staff and teachers, they are very passionate about Davidson High School and want their students to succeed. Fun Fact:
We have worked with many schools and sometimes they become a whole day affair shooting around classes, lunch breaks and so on. On The day we worked with the school’s principal. After a brief introduction and orientation with our 360 equipment, the process and so on he understood what we required very quickly. He was able to get us in and out of shoot locations quickly cutting onsite time to new records. We were expected to leave at 2 pm but ended up leaving at 11 am, not rushed and had everything we needed in record time.
