The Brief – Google Maps Tour – Westfield Parramatta

Lush Cosmetics, a well-known handmade and ethical beauty product brand, was preparing to open a new store in the bustling Westfield Parramatta shopping centre. They had two specific requests to achieve their two main goals of attracting more customers and showcasing their unique store design. Firstly, they wanted to create a high-end Google Maps Tour enabling online visitors to virtually tour the store 360 degrees and see their wide range of products. This would also help them boost their visibility and ranking in Google Maps.

Secondly, they wanted to have standard DSLR photos taken of the store’s interior and exterior, which would capture the store’s aesthetic and atmosphere. They could then use these photos for their website, social media, and marketing campaigns to promote their new store and reach more potential customers.

We were recently asked to do an updated photograph of their LUSH QVB Location. LUSH wanted to introduce a fresh, updated virtual tour for its QVB (Queen Victoria Building) store to reflect its newly renovated design and immersive customer experience. They wanted a tour that matched their refreshed interior, signage, layout changes, and lighting — not just a re-upload of old imagery. To execute this, we arranged access before opening hours and kept our team positioned outside during shooting to prevent people from walking through scenes. We also executed precise geo-positioning at both the store’s location and its level (floor elevation) within the arcade structure. The result ties directly into the LUSH QVB Business Profile and places the map pin exactly in the correct arcade level, helping new customers find their way intuitively.

What We Loved About This Project

Working directly with the store opening and operations team, we got up early for the 360 photo shoot before the store and shopping centre opening. This ensured no people were walking through the shoot, as Westfield Parramatta is a bustling location. During this time, we learned a lot about the Lush brand, what it stands for and its various products. We got everything done on time and are ready for the launch. We are proud to be part of the successful launch of the new Lush store.

Fun Fact: During the shoot, people were walking past and were very excited about the launch of the new store. The Lush Cosmetics team onsite had to help lead people away from the store so we could finish the shoot and advise them that the opening was only a few hours away. This is a testament to their customers and their brand loyalty for quality and natural products.

The Brief – Google Maps Tour – QVB

LUSH wanted to introduce a new virtual tour for its Queen Victoria Building (QVB) store to showcase its refreshed interior and elevated customer experience. The updated tour captures the store’s redesigned layout, lighting, and signature visual style. To ensure pristine results, we gained access before opening hours and kept our team outside during the shoot to prevent passers-by from entering the frame. We also performed precise geo-positioning for both location and store level, allowing the map pin to appear precisely at the correct elevation within the QVB arcade. The finished tour integrates seamlessly with the LUSH QVB Business Profile, helping new visitors find the store effortlessly through Google Maps.

What We Loved About This Project

We loved the opportunity to capture LUSH QVB’s new look in a way that reflects their commitment to design and customer experience. Working before trading hours meant we could highlight the store at its absolute best—undisturbed, vibrant, and ready to open. The extra challenge of mapping accuracy by level made this project particularly satisfying; within the multi-storey QVB arcade, that precision ensures customers are guided to the right entrance, not a floor above or below. Blending exposures, handling glass reflections, and aligning perspectives made for an enjoyable technical challenge that produced a truly polished virtual tour.

About The Client

Lush stands as a beacon of conscious consumerism in the bustling world of cosmetics. It was founded in 1995 by trichologist Mark Constantine, his wife Mo Constantine, and a group of passionate visionaries. They emerged with a mission transcending mere profit margins. Their journey has been one of innovation, activism, and unwavering commitment to ethical practices.

Lush’s story begins with a commitment to freshness. Their products are handmade, using organic fruits, vegetables, and essential oils. The founders believed that beauty should be as fresh as the ingredients themselves. But Lush’s ethos extends beyond the cosmetic jar—it permeates every facet of their business.

At the core of Lush lies an unwavering commitment to freshness. Their products are meticulously crafted using organic ingredients, avoiding synthetic additives. With 95% of their vegan recipes, Lush ensures that beauty doesn’t compromise animal welfare. Beyond ingredients, they challenge industry norms by creating “naked” products—solid shampoo bars, fizzing bath bombs, and shower jellies—minimising unnecessary packaging.

They believe in fair trade and transparency. They collaborate directly with suppliers, recognising that ingredients represent livelihoods and stories. As staunch advocates against animal testing, Lush’s cruelty-free products actively campaign for global bans. But their compassion extends beyond cosmetics: initiatives like the “Charity Pot” fund projects that champion freedom of movement, creating a world where safety and dignity are universal rights.
